Today, for the shooting of films, the facility of vanity van is available where the actors can change their clothes and take rest during breaks. But at one time actors did not have such facilities. The popular actress of the 90s has talked about this and has also shared the shooting experience of that period.
Film ‘Phool Aur Kaante’ fame actress Madhu earned a lot of stardom in a very short time. But she also disappeared from the screen very soon. Now the actress is again seen in films. Recently Madhu has told the difference between the facilities available during shooting today and in the 90s. According to him, in olden times stars had to face lack of basic facilities.
‘That was the most embarrassing time…’
Talking to Indian Express, Madhu said- ‘This is a truth. It was one of the most difficult times and I was shooting Tamil films in Kolachi, sitting in the red caves and under the mountains and trees to face nature and that was the most embarrassing time. The kind of clothes we used to wear to dance in that summer and then changing those clothes, we didn’t know who was watching, it was very difficult.
The actress slept on stones!
Madhu further said- ‘Now all that does not happen. You can say you want a makeup van and you will get your privacy. There was a time when I was shooting Iruvar (1997) with Mani Ratnam sir and we were shooting somewhere in Tamil Nadu. I don’t remember the place clearly, but during the break after lunch, I was sleeping on the stones there and I heard someone saying that what is the use of earning so much money, when one has to sleep on the stones. Those days were difficult for a female artist.
